Warhammer 40K Doubles League

Player Pack

These rules exist to make the league fun for everyone, noting we have players of all skill and experience levels. Any concerns with the rules below can be discussed with Jack.

Entries

  • $80 per team payable when registering.
  • Register in-store, through our online store or via Facebook Messenger. Please make sure you have your team’s name ready.
  • There will be no refunds after registering.
  • Prizes will be awarded at the end of the league.
  • Team shirts will also be available to order before 30th of Aug. See Jack for more details  

Format

  • 4 Battle Rounds
  • Pairings will be random, and all pairings will be advised prior to Week 1.
  • Games can be played in store in any order at any time. All Teams must have completed 4 battles by 5pm Sunday 20th Oct 2024.
  • If a Team is not available to complete the required number of matches. They will score zero and their opponent will be given a score or 70% of available max round points.  This rule is subject to change in extenuating circumstances at Cryptic Battlefield’s discretion.
  • Top two teams will play in the Grand Final in store on 26-27th October. Date and Time to be confirmed with both teams and posted into the Battalion group.
  • If the top two teams are unable to play the grand final weekend, they will forfeit their place and it will be given to the next placing team, this will continue until two teams are available. The number one team will have priority for game time for the grand final.

Army Composition

  • Each team is to field two 1500 point armies built to 10th Edition rules. Teams must not exceed 3000 points in total or 1500 points each (ie. You cannot have one 1700 point army and one 1300 point army)
  • Armies must be battle forged and both armies must have a Warlord.
  • Legend units are not allowed at this event.
  • Lists are locked for the full league and must be submitted by 5pm on 25th Sep 2024 via messenger or emailed to info@crypticbattlefield.com
  • Lists must be submitted in text format and all lists must be made available to your opponent immediately prior to deployment to confirm legality.
  • All players must have data sheets (physical or digital) available during battle to present to opponents if requested.
  • The rule of 3 still applies for each team. (example you cannot have 4 rhinos across the team lists)
  • Model Conversions need to be approved by Jack before list submission.

Tournament Specific Rules

  • Armies are not required to be painted to enter this tournament. Battle Ready scoring will not apply.
  • Each Team starts with 1 CP only to be used on ether players army and teams will regain 1 CP in each Command Phase unless mission or army abilities allow more CP to be generated.
  • Named and unique models/units (eg. Epic Heroes) can only be used once per team.
  • EACH ARMY IS THEIR OWN ARMY when it comes to Buff’s, Auras, Spells, Strats, etc.4
  • Abilities of each army can only be used on that players army, regardless of any keywords or other criteria that would allow affecting your teammate.
  • Stratagems can only be used once per phase. eg: Only one player per team can use the reroll stratagem in a single phase.
  • For resolving Phases both players on the team act at the same time.
  • Each player may choose one faction secondary when assigning secondary objectives. Both players CANNOT choose the same faction secondary objectives. Secondary objectives can be scored by either player as long as they meet ALL requirements of the secondary objective, eg; keywords.

Player Optimised Terrain

  • At the start of each game players will follow the below procedure to set up their table.
    • After determining Attacker & Defender, the Defender chooses their table side and the players separate the terrain in half.
    • Starting with the Defender, players alternate placing 1 piece of terrain from their half of the terrain in their table half at a time until all terrain has been placed.
    • All the terrain pieces must be placed.
    • All terrain pieces must be at least 4” from a table edge or another piece of terrain.
    • Obscuring ruins must be placed at least 6” from other obscuring ruins and 4” from any other terrain feature or battlefield edge.

Scenarios and Scoring

  • Scenarios will be set for each round. List of scenarios are below and details available in store.
  • Scores must be submitted as a screenshot of the Tabletop Battles app before leaving the store after the end of the match.

Miscellaneous

  • Any concerns with game rules or player conduct are to be raised with Jack. Any decisions made by Jack are final.
